Steve Schmitz was my realtor of choice on the sale of my town home. We listed the home the end of 2017 and it closed on Feb 7, 2018. It was sold to a first time home buyer who used a newer realtor, so Steve had to help in more ways than usual. He had to gain the realtor's trust so she understood that he was looking out for my interests, but not trying to hurt her client in any way. He has a very soothing demeanor, so he did this well. Due to the fact that we traveled south for the winter, we had to do the closing remotely. Steve handled this expertly, even when the title company demanded excessive information that I couldn't access while out of town. He went to my house and searched through my desk and found at least a partial amount of information to help the situation. He also was able to press the appraiser to appraise the property at the amount we had sold it for due to the appraiser's negligence in completing the appraisal on time. We did end up closing several days late, but Steve did his best throughout to keep things on track, and support me until it was over. Thanks Steve!!

I have known Steve for about 30 years. In 2005, he helped me purchase my first home. And in 2017, he listed and sold that home as well as helped me in the purchase of my new townhome.
The sale of my home had a number of unforeseen obstacles that could have prevented the sale after we had come to an agreement with a buyer. Steve handled these situations professionally and thought of some creative solutions to get the house sold. Steve helped me keep calm throughout the whole process by explaining to me the steps and the options for solutions. Even though Steve is a friend of mine, he went above any expectation anyone would have for a realtor in order to get these situations resolved for me.

For many years, Steve Schmitz has managed a condo that we own in New Prague. He handled every detail for us from collecting the rent to responding to calls from the association. His dedicated support made it possible for us to continue owning the condo, since due to family obligations, we did not have the time to manage it ourselves.
Steve found new renters when the old ones gave notice and, I think with only one exception, had them moving in when the older renters moved out. That is pretty amazing considering he handled this for more than 10 years for us.
Both my husband and I had been in the real estate business (new home sales for a builder) and had worked with Steve on many transactions before enlisting him to handle our rental. We both recommended Steve to clients, who were looking to sell their homes, because we had observed how honest and helpful he was to the clients that he brought to us. When an out-of-state investor was looking for someone to manage several properties that he had purchased from me, I had no trouble recommending Steve to him.
Steve responded immediately to our calls and to those of our renters. I cannot say enough about how Steve's low-key, kind and honest personality makes every situation easy. On one occasion, when we had a renter who was not paying rent, Steve handled the eviction and court case without ever having to involve us. Although it is not his normal temperament, he can be tough when the situation calls for it.
Many months ago, we mentioned that we would like to sell our condo when the market improved. Steve recently gave us a call to say that he thought we could get our asking price if we listed now. We did and Steve had three good offers within 24 hours. The closing is set and we can enjoy the return on our investment in our retirement years.
